Shipping a mini excavator from China requires the exact packed configuration, not a catalog photograph or nominal tonnage. Confirm operating and packed dimensions, gross weight, attachments, packing method, loading method, origin, destination and responsible parties before requesting freight quotations.

Prepare the freight data sheet
- Model, serial number or order reference.
- Machine operating dimensions and weight.
- Final packed dimensions, gross weight and centre-of-gravity information where required.
- Attachments, loose parts, fluids and batteries included.
- Loading, lifting, securing and unloading requirements.
- Origin address and port or terminal; destination port and final delivery point.
Choose transport and Incoterms responsibilities separately
FCL, LCL, flat rack, roll-on/roll-off or multimodal transport may be considered depending on dimensions, quantity, route and carrier acceptance. Obtain a current written quotation and cargo-acceptance confirmation. Do not assume that LCL is always cheaper or that air, rail or sea has a universal time or cost advantage.
State the Incoterms® 2020 rule and named place precisely. The rule helps allocate delivery, cost and risk responsibilities, but the contract must still address specifications, payment, documents, insurance scope, title and claims.
Approve a packing and securing plan
Identify removable or folded components and record their reassembly requirements. Protect controls, cylinders, hoses, painted surfaces and loose items using materials accepted for the route and destination. The carrier, container operator and competent cargo-securing party should determine blocking, bracing, lashing and weight distribution. A general article cannot specify strap, chain or chock capacity for an unknown load.
Reconcile documents before loading
Compare the commercial invoice, packing list, machine identification, gross weight, dimensions, attachment list and bill-of-lading instructions. Confirm available origin, engine, conformity, inspection and insurance documents for the destination. Do not use a generic HS code or duty percentage without destination classification advice.

Capture loading evidence
- Machine and attachment condition before loading.
- Serial and engine identification.
- Container number and seal where applicable.
- Position, blocking, bracing and lashing after completion.
- Loose-item packaging and document handover.
Plan destination handling before departure
Confirm customs-broker instructions, terminal handling, free-time conditions, inland transport, unloading equipment, site access and who may receive the cargo. Shipping schedules and charges can change; use carrier and forwarder updates rather than fixed online transit times.
Inspect and document delivery
Before unloading, record the external condition, container or seal information and visible damage. Compare delivered items with the packing list and follow carrier and insurer notification procedures within the applicable time. Do not operate the machine until it has been safely unloaded and commissioned according to its manuals and destination requirements.
Start with the full import checklist and request packing data for the exact quoted model. Freight price, route, transit time, duty and destination compliance require current order-specific confirmation.
